I just found an American coon hound in front of my house! A sweetie who is trained to sit and lie down, full of energy and style, loves playing and running - but he also loves to chase cats....and since I have rescued about 15 of those little monsters, he can't stay here. We also have three dogs, and except for feeding time, everyone's playing like crazy. Is there a home out there for these big, beautiful brown eyes? I love him so, but this is not the place for him. I'm hoping to find him a home soon; he seems to be a great working dog...and he's so very affectionate ; he'll be a great buddy to someone. Can you take him home? He'll kiss you forever!!

Yes, he's lost, confused and longing for whomever loves him - I help because I live that feeling with him. There are so many, and so much to do. Remember, comments mean nothing unless they are backed up with action...We must all do what we can, though it is up hill, and discouraging at times. Bless you for caring, and open your heart to whatever you can do around you. By the way, I love the quote about the bridge to Indian heaven: I hope it is true. I'll be met by an army of the best friends I've had the honour to know....wouldn't that be heaven?!!

Though I believe flyers matter not a whit, I do that, and go to all the "shelters" around here everyday, trying to see if his people have posted...I do every little thing I can think of to save this sweet soul. They ask so little, and give so much, and when I look in their eyes, I want to do more....

FYI, if you are ever looking for a rescue group in the Bay Area that finds homes for hounds, google Hopalong Animal Rescue in Oakland. I adopted my two kids, both hounds, from them and they are a great group.
